Project # 9 State Street Reconstruction

Project Update – March 8 2010

Drainage installation on State Street near Dutton Ave will continue and should be completed by the end of the week.   The installation of sewer and drainage services to the new sewer and drain lines has commenced and will continue this week and next.  Contractor will coordinate with the property owners, as required for connections to the existing services.  Water line work on Atkinson Street is also planned to commence this week and will require approximately one to two weeks of effort.

During the completion of the drainage and sewer service work in the Marcy Street area, traffic from Scott Ave and Marcy Street will be temporarily detoured from the intersection during the work, as required.

With the completion of the new sewer and remaining water services, the utility work from Dutton Ave to Marcy Street will be complete.  Contractor anticipates completing reconstruction of the roadway base materials in mid March and installing binder pavement.  Sidewalk and curbing construction will begin in April on this portion of the project.

Utility upgrades from Dutton Ave toward Pleasant Street are scheduled to commence in early April.   Construction of utilities will be sequenced in a block by block basis.  Water line construction will proceed in advance of the sewer construction and drainage.
